Mossback’s Northwest

Cascade PBS (nee KCTS, Crosscut, Cascade Public Media) has a fantastic short-form show about fascinating history, mystery, and peculiarities of the Pacific Northwest.

As a Cascade PBS sustaining member, I was invited to a sneak leak (that’s a typo but I’m going with it, lol) of the upcoming seasons at their Seattle HQ.

This Space Needle lamp is visible in current editions of Mossback’s Northwest and is an upcycled sculpture by artist Pat Tassoni of Olympia, who has crafted nearly 300 Space Needle lamps from ordinary materials. Katt was quick to point out the Fresnel lens ❤️

I also got to meet Knute Berger (aka Mossback, aka Skip), the show’s host, writer, and resident historian!

The first thing Skip said to me was “nice flannel!” 😍😍😍

If you haven’t seen the show, I highly recommend checking it out. Current shows are less than 8 minutes, and the early seasons were only 2-3!

Regarding the lamp, I had the following email exchange with Knute, who published it in this week’s Mossback’s Den!

Now I’m going to pitch an episode “America’s Pompeii,” the Ozette village, to Knute!
