Ski Willamette Pass POW, March 2023

Last year, my brothers Mike and Kev and I skied Hoodoo, which we determined to be our first of many annual “Ski Bros” vacations. This year we originally planned to Ski Bluewood, but Kev’s wife broke her leg just days before the trip so we reorganized and drove down to his place for a trip to Willamette Pass ski area, which I hadn’t been to in many years, and Mike had never been to.

A few years back, Willamette barely opened for the year due to low snow conditions, but this year, conditions were OFF THE CHARTS and what followed was the best powder day of our lives!! Powder shots (“freshies”) ALL. DAY. LONG!!! It was BONKERS, especially for March! 13 inches overnight and 21 in 48 hours!!

Kevin getting the goods
Mike getting the goods
Daryl getting the goods! SO GOOD!!
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of Mike’s sick snow beard!
ACTUAL “ski bros”
I got my first face shot about 30 feet from the top of the lift, and it stayed like this all day!!
With no poles, Kevin had to be careful not to get stuck in the DEEP flats 😉
Not bad for a some “old guys” lol – we didn’t have legs for this!

Part 2: McCreedie Hot Springs

The highway side of the river at McCreedie Hot Springs. Kevin said the river recently washed out the pools and they’ve since been rebuilt.
First time soaking on the far side of the river – better pools over there! It was DUMPING like this most of the time we were there – in March!!
My 4Runner after about 5 minutes – DUMPING!
’bout sums it up!
