91500 published is disputed by the author: Utilizing runway 7-25 includes crossing a public road (NE 96th Ave) and from starting directly at the hangars, Google Maps measures only 1314 feet as in the graphic below:

Image suggesting the published 1500 foot length for runway 7-25 at Goheen is significantly longer than the actual usable length.

My visits to Washington soft fields:

Final approach into 1RL, the US enclave of Point Roberts, Washington. We camped at the county park on the south side of the field! So far, my favorite Fly WA Passport airport!
The King County Sheriff’s Bell UH-x1? “Huey” departs 4W0, Bandera State Airport during a mountain rescue operation. Here we drove in as it is right next to I-5 in order to inspect it for a later visit.

Looking north from the threshold of runway 02 at Tieton State (4S6) in July 2025, showing tall grass, favoring tail-draggers. The surface was rock solid with no obvious ruts or holes on the south 1/2 of the runway. I didn’t grab a stamp this time since we were just camping on the lake and I wanted to do ground recon before flying in.

Musings on soft fields of Washington

Rogersburg (D69) was an airstrip in the southeast corner of Washington above the Snake River and is listed as CLOSED in the August 2025 Chart Supplement.

ESW Easton State Airport along I-5, which in my opinion makes it less than ideal for camping unless one brings good earplugs! I snapped this photo while flying a Cessna 172 from Ellensburg (ELN) back to Auburn (S50) in late June 2025.
Gorgeous Rimrock Reservoir below 14,000-foot Tahoma hides Tieton State Airport (4S6) at the bottom right corner of the lake. We snapped this photo while flying a Cessna 172 between Goldendale and Ellensburg in June 2025.
