First time camping up at Chinook Pass for backcountry skiing. Katt, Johnny, Riley, GrandPaw and I commenced setting up camp in the trees just up the hill from the road. It must have been a good day because I don’t remember the fact that we did the following, in true “gaper” fashion:
- I forgot my skins
- Johnny’s skins didn’t have tail clips and wouldn’t stay on during the sidehill
- Katt forgot her water bottle
- Tent fly released overnight, leading to dripping inside the tent
- Johnny put his freeze-dried Stroganoff inside his coat to keep it and him warm, only to accidentally crush it open, leading to him using a spoon to eat it out of his now-filled pocket! We were all laughing hysterically; Johnny said his anger-management classes must have paid off!
