Forecast for the weekend was pretty crappy for basically everything, but as soon as we saw the forecast for snow in the mountains, we decided to go for it! First trip into the Goat Rocks wilderness! Goat Rocks have been on my bucketlist since I first saw them while climbing Tahoma waaaay back in 2001.
FAKE smiles – look below to see how HEAVY these packs were for our “bougie” trip! Katts pack: 55 poundsMy pack: 67 pounds!! My hips hurt just looking at this It’s just a bandana, SILLY PUPS!! (He got a pack too) A new Wilderness!! With skis!!Juneuary!! (17 June 2023) Yours truly sloggin’ it out Katt sloggin’ it out; weather conspired to keep views at a minimum. Here we are standing on the PCT! The crowds were, well, *nonexistent!*In exchange for our effort, we were rewarded with 2 inches of JUNE POWDER!! POW POW!! Snow was GREAT, visibility, meh Good to the last drop! There’s a lot of skinanigans like this in “spring” skiing, seldom documented as it tends to be a suffer fest, but this was actually Type 1 fun! After two nights, we hoofed out the 4 miles, catching an occasional glimpse of the winter wonderland we left! Can’t wait to go back!!
Pupbushka!
Type 1 fun all the way…except for maybe the hiking done after 11pm 😆
We have the best adventures!
