Do the Puyallup!

Katt and I last did “the Puyallup” soon after we started dating over a decade ago, and we went back in 2025 to check it out!

Hand-dipped bratwurst corn dog and lemonade (we got a mandatory funnel cake later!)
Here’s a 9-second clip of us on a thrill ride I posted to YouTube in 2011.
We actually went to see the 4H animals, but the “open poultry” show isn’t until later. Check out these fancy chickens with feathery feet!
There were goats you could pet
Designer cavies (guinea pigs)
This is a real-life Tribble!!
4H rabbitsis!!!
Hats-wearing duck-snakes 😉
It was Mexican heritage day and we saw this 12-person ensemble mariachi band Bonda Arkangel for free in the grandstands
We rode the Sky Ride, which has been here since the 80s but is reportedly the actual equipment from the 1962 Century 21 Expo! (Seattle World’s Fair)
Photo from 1962 showing the Sky Ride at the Century 21 Exposition
The Floral/Ag barn had these fancy Grange displays
These veggie animals were cuuuute
Cindy Tobeck's blue ribbon 4-pound tomato at the 2025 Washington State Fair in Puyallup.
That’s a big heirloom tomato!!
Mary Hammelman's blue ribbon 18.25 pound zucchini at the 2025 Washington State Fair in Puyallup.
Note Katt’s hand in comparison
This “super mid” pepper won 2nd place for potted peppers. All of mine look better than this, guess who will be entering the State Fair competition next year?!?
Jerick Judd's 1000-pound "Big Dumper" pumpkin at the 2025 Washington State Fair in Puyallup.
64-day-old 1000-pound pumpkin!!
Give a HOOT about farming!!
We’re much more risk-adverse than we used to be. Due to the lines we didn’t consider any thrill rides this time.
We did it!
