Spruce Knob, West Virginia lies at 4,863 feet MSL and is ranked #24 in elevation among US Highpoints. This would be my 13th highpoint of 2004. This was a memorable trip because I got to drive unplowed snowy roads for miles and miles before I got to the parking lot where I slept in my Subaru. It was an icy, snowy day on the Knob and the start of another very busy day.
The highpoint is another drive up in the Monongahela National Forest with a small lookout platform. Sadly the weather precluded great views but the winter weather is always welcome.

From here I would spend the next day traveling and go to Mount Rogers, Virginia on the 10th.
Blue Grass, VA
I couldn’t pass up the chance to drive through a town called Blue Grass!!

So pretty!
It’s a good thing there aren’t speed limits at bluegrass shows – the mando player would always get a ticket! 😆
Nick from Yonder would be IN JAIL in this town!!
